In vitro Antisalmonella and Antioxidant Activity of Hydroethanolic and Aqueous Extracts of Bauhinia rufescens Leaf and Stem Bark Extracts

In Chad, enteric fever remains a major public health problem where it is still endemic due to the precariousness of life hygiene combined with abusive and inappropriate use antibiotics. Objective: The aim this work was evaluate in vitro antisalmonella antioxidant activity extracts from leaves stem bark B. rufescens.
 Methods: Phytochemical screening these performed by standard methods justify observed activities. evaluated using liquid microdilution method. Antioxidant determined investigating their 1, 1-diphenyl-2 picrylhydrazyl (DPPH●) antiradical iron reducing capacities.
 Results: Minimum Inhibitory Concentrations (MICs) were varied 256 1024 µg/ml. 95% hydroethanolic extract exhibited higher DPPH● than all IC50s ≤ 20 μg/ml for tested.
 Conclusion: These results showed that rufescens possess activities could be used vivo studies.
